This is a recipe that we enjoy making. My teenage son loves it and, unfortunately for my waistline, so do I!

¾ c. packed brown sugar
½ c. sugar
½ c. butter (softened)
½ c. shortening
1 ½ t. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
½ t. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions


  1. Heat oven to 375°F/190°C.
  2. In large bowl, cream sugars, butter, and shortening. Blend in vanilla and egg. Stir in dry ingredients until well mixed. Mix in chips.
  3. Divide dough in four equal parts.
  4. Put each part in one 6” Cast Iron Skillet and pat out evenly.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, cool for 10 minutes and enjoy.
